THE ULTIMATE GUIDE TO OLD MARYLEBONE TOWN HALL WEDDING

If you love London and always imagined you would get married here, you can’t get much more chic than a wedding ceremony at the Old Marylebone Town Hall! It is simply the most picturesque of all the London Town Halls in my opinion and just so happens to be the one I most often frequent.

When I was just starting out as a Wedding photographer in 2015 in Hertfordshire, I used to dream about capturing modern, urban weddings in London, specifically at The Old Marylebone Town Hall.

Fast forward to now and I’m very happy to say I have photographed countless ceremonies in almost every single room at Marylebone Town Hall from London elopements where I was honoured to be a witness to my couples union in the Pimlico Room to multiple large weddings of 100 guests in the Westminster Room so when I say I have experience of this venue I really do have the receipts.

In this post I will talk you through the different rooms you can book for your ceremony depending on how many guests you have, give you some fun facts about the venue and showcase some of my photos taken in every season, every ceremony room and around the area for my previous couples.

FUN FACTS ABOUT THE OLD MARYLEBONE TOWN HALL

1. The Old Marylebone Town Hall is a Grade II listed building, built between 1914 and 1920 and is an example of Edwardian Graeco-Roman classicism, with a tower in the style of Christopher Wren and fluted columns.
   
2. The building was closed for 5 years between 2013 and 2018 to be renovated and its stunning interiors boast a complimenting mix of 1920s features and contemporary furnishings.
3. The 7 ceremony rooms are named after different parts of the borough; Westminster, Knightsbridge, Paddington, Marylebone, Soho, Pimlico and Mayfair.
4. YOU CAN HAVE YOUR DOG AS YOUR RING BEARER!!!
5. The Westminster room is the most popular ceremony room followed by the Soho Room.
6. Old Marylebone Town Hall is one of London’s most recognisable civil wedding venues. Known for the high profile weddings of Sir Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith
7. The Old Marylebone Town Hall holds intimate ceremonies for four people to larger weddings for up to 100 guests.
8. The venue has hosted so many important ceremonies including 20 same sex couples legalising their union on the very first day of civil partnerships in 2005.

The Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Venue

Located in the heart of the City of Westminster, Marylebone Town Hall is the most popular registry office in town for wedding ceremonies and for good reason. As well as being a stunning backdrop for your wedding, it’s also super convenient for your guests coming on public transport. The venue is within walking distance from Baker Street and Marylebone underground stations and also some fabulous hotels, such as the Landmark Hotel. As well as this, there is a large space outside the front of the Town Hall big enough for an old Routemaster bus or a wedding car if you’re travelling in style to your reception venue.
