Millennial Bride Tribe - Halo & Wren Bridal Editorial

By far my absolute favourite and most rewarding shoot of 2017 was our Millennial Bride Tribe photoshoot with Halo & Wren Bridal, which I planned, styled AND shot myself! When I got back from travelling in April, I knew I wanted to pay a visit to H&W and meet the wonderful Jemma (the beauty, brains and absolute super woman behind the boutique and the kindest and most chilled out human I have ever met btw!) and as soon as I saw the shop I FELL IN LOVE (see my last post with the interior shots to see exactly what I mean) and knew I wanted to work with her and help her modern bridal vision come to life in an editorial!

The inspiration and vision for the mood of the shoot came from a conversation the team and I had about girl power and the modern bride - Jemma really wanted to create a really stylish, alternative and feminine vibe to really represent the modern essence of the shop and the wedding gowns she stocks. We used these keywords to create a moodboard and begun planning, planning, PLANNING! Planning to create an editorial shoot that would inspire the fashion forward bride. The millennial, young, modern and on trend bride who doesn’t give a fuck about traditional and doesn't want anything too formal or fussy. She just wants fun and casual glam!

Jemma knew which dresses she absolutely wanted to feature in the photoshoot including her star pieces, the silk separates by Marquise Bridal an Australian brand leading the way in contemporary, modern gowns and fashion forward styling, an all over sequin gown by Watters Woo and chic and sleek lace, open back dresses by Spanish designer Marta Martí. I then used these as a base to pick fun accessories and jackets to style with them.

As I said being as I was the planner, stylist and photographer of this shoot it was definitely one of the most rewarding photoshoots of 2017 for me, as Jemma said I helped to bring her vision to life and I have had such fantastic feedback from other alternative wedding suppliers which is just the most wonderful feeling. It is just one of my absolute favourite editorials!

The shoot was picked up and featured by The Bridal Edit as soon as we began to post images because she said she absolutely loved the style of the shoot and I was delighted. That post can be read here. We have also been published on alternative wedding blog Way Out Wedding more recently which I am so excited about!

Have a look through all the photos below and please do comment below, I would love to hear what you thought about them.
